Tokenising jaguars

The Jaguar Club NFT project enables anyone to own a tokenised jaguar previously detected by Tico’s Wild Studio. Each time a jaguar is detected, it will be added to the Jaguar Club collection and made available for purchase. Each jaguar will be issued as a Dynamic NFT (dNFT)

When purchasing a Jaguar dNFT, you are not only holding one of South America’s most iconic predator. Your dynamic NFTs will allow you to follow your jaguar in the long term, over space and time. You will be updated for each apparition and remarkable event detected such as reproduction, fights, predation, birth of cub and health state evolution.

Meet the jags

Over the years, from the Osa Peninsula to the Cordillera de Talamanca, several individuals have been spotted, identified and are monitored through our camera traps network. With more than 250 jaguar footages, the precious information gathered monthly is continuously enriching our database and shared with the environmental protection authorities as well as the scientific community.

As this jaguar has only been spotted once and that on this occasion the camera trap failed, we do not have any information about the exact date of the detection. Due to fog on the lense, we do not know if it is a male or a female.

Technology

The NFT project is being meticulously developed on Starknet, a Layer 2 scaling solution for the Ethereum blockchain.

This strategic choice leverages the power of zk-STARKs (Zero-Knowledge Scalable Transparent ARguments of Knowledge) to enhance the overall user experience by ensuring heightened security, accelerated transaction speeds, and substantially reduced fees.

By employing zk-STARK technology, the project aims to provide a safer and more efficient environment for users to engage with and trade NFTs, mitigating the scalability challenges faced by the Ethereum network. This innovative approach not only enhances the platform's performance but also contributes to a more seamless and cost-effective ecosystem for participants in the vibrant world of non-fungible tokens.

The Jaguar Club project is led and closely supervised by Vagabonds Labs a blockchain organization based in San José, Costa Rica.
